New opposition in the Village Knockout

2010 will see Fillongley take on new opposition in the village knockout, as we’ve been drawn against the mysterious Tile Hill Village cricket club in the 2nd round.
Its unclear at present what standard Tile Hill Village will be and indeed if they’ve ever even played a game before, but the Tile Hill in question does appear to be the one in the middle of Coventry, and it seems that at least some of the players will not be unfamiliar to Fillongley, as some of Highway’s players appear to be involved.
More news as we get it.
A strange one indeed. If they didn’t exist last year it’s hard to see how they can have any qualified players according to the rules. Lots of entries in our group this year so E & W will start in Round 1 on 25th April v Wolvey. If successful they meet Earlswood in the second round. Last year there were only about six games played in Round 1 nationally! If we can make the national rounds we get a home tie (at last) so that’s some incentive.
