Weekend Friendlies

We played Olton yet again on Saturday. Batting first with the order drawn out of a hat, we made better than 300 in our 40 overs. Aaron Blackmore made his best score with 193, equalling Barbers total at the start of  last season. In fairness to Olton it shouldn’t have been such a big total, as loads of catches went down. Olton finished about 70 short, with a maiden century for their first team number 11. On Sunday it was Aldridge. They batted first but lost some big wickets early and in the end limped to 170 odd. We got the runs for the loss of just two wickets with Phil making 72 not out and JK 72 to add to 45 odd on the Saturday. Brian Coldrick (is the name correct?) played his last game for Aldridge after a long career. It would have been nice to post a video of a storming cover drive, but I only got his last ball, caught by Del Boy who is out of frame. Click on the pic to open in Flickr.
