Az’s 144 beats Four Oaks
The firsts won today at Four Oaks Saints thanks mainly to a big ton from Az.
Batting first fillongley stared well, Barber getting a swift 30, however 3 wickets fell in quick time. Az then joined Chris Hill at the crease and shared a stand of 130 odd before Chilly was removed caught and bowled for 36. Az carried on and some big hitting took the final score to 276-7. Az finished with an excellent unbeaten 144, a fairly large total but still gettable on a very flat pitch.
Four Oaks started well with runs coming quickly, both openers passed 50 well before drinks and an opeining stand of around 130 was beginning to look dangerous. Stringer struck just after drinks removing Hall for 64 caught by Az. Barber, yes the best fielder in the league Barber bowled a decent 10 overs for 1 wicket as well as other useful contributions with the ball from Dan Smith and Reg helped to move Four Oaks gradually further and further behind the rate. Bing removed Wright with a massive leg side pie for a very well played 99 caught by Stringer. More wickets fell as Four Oaks tried to keep up with the rate however fell around 25 short 9 wickets down. Bing ended with 5-38, Stringer bowled tightly finishing with 2-33 off his alloted overs. A decent performance in the field in the end to back up the good efforts of with the bat!
The seconds lost to Four Oaks at home, i cant quite remember the scores, Galesy got a well played 71, although according to Rose and the Steadys it may have been a bit slow????
