Regs 133 not enough
[flickr]photo:3796401482[/flickr]The Sunday 1sts lost their game at Aston today in the 44th over today. We were short of a few regulars and only had ten men, but posted 207 thanks mainly to a maiden senior ton from Chris Moore. He made 133, with good support from Andy Moore (49). Andy also took 3 of the four wickets to fall.

With all the people who were unavailable it sounds like a good effort, particularly from the Moores.
Have we heard any news from the second team?
Well done to Chris for his first Fillongley senior ton and to Andy for runs and wickets.
I take personal responsibility for their performances with the mentoring and guidance i gave them during and after the test match on Friday!!
Well done

Seconds got beat (150 played 90) I understand.
I’m not happy at being termed “weak”!
Great knock by Chris who made batting look easier than it was on a difficult pitch. Ask Andy about the ball he got out to, I could have repaired the pitch mark without moving far and I was umpiring!
Thanks to all who made the effort at short notice to turn out.
…nearly forgot Mick’s slip catch. I’ve never seen anything like it before. He took off like one of those sprung loaded toys that you press down and then…. boing! I think his trouser elastic snapped.
Well Done Seymour !
Talking about Mick’s slip catches (as per Snr’s post) i remember a blinder he took a few years ago in a second team game at Pickwick. It was the first and indeed last time that i ever had cause to run up at full speed and hug him ! I hope he remembers. Of course he spent most of our innings in the car marking exams.
